Shape-persistent macrocycles

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na přípravu makrocyklů, které se skládají ze stavebního bloku odvozeného od 2,2-dimethylfenanthro[9,10-d][1,3]dioxolu s buta-1,3-diynylidenovými linkery, které spojují tyto bloky v polohách 3 a 6 fenanthrylenového skeletu. Literární rešerše uvádí čtenáře do tématu couplingu sp hybridizovaných atomů uhlíku. Jedná se o reakce typu Glaserův a Cadiotův-Chodkiewitzův coupling spolu s jejich modifikacemi, z nichž některé byly použity v této práci pro spojení stavebních bloků zakončených pomocí sp hybridizovaných atomů uhlíku. Vzdáleným cílem bylo připravit tetramer stavebního bloku (6,9-Diethynyl-2,2-dimethylfenanthro[9,10][1,3]dioxolu), který by vykazoval konformační změny (flip molekuly), které lze sledovat pomocí NMR. Prezentovány jsou 4 nové deriváty 2,2-dimethylfenanthro[9,10-d][1,3]dioxolu a je diskutována jejich reaktivita a chemické chování.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on synthesis of macrocycles that consist of building blocks derived from 2,2-dimethylphenanthro[9,10-d][1,3]dioxole and 1,3-butadiynylene linkers, which connects the building blocks in position 3 and 6 of phenanthrylene core. Literature review is clarifying the topic of sp hybridized carbon couplings. Namely Glaser coupling and Cadiot-Chodkiewitz coupling. This work also covers modifications of these procedures. Some of them are used in the synthesis of macrocycles based on 6,9-Diethynyl-2,2-dimethylphenanthro[9,10][1,3]dioxole building block. Distant goal of this work was to prepare tetrameric macrocycle of mentioned building block, which would exhibit conformational changes (molecule flip), which could be observable by NMR. 4 new derivatives of 6,9-Diethynyl-2,2-dimethylphenanthro[9,10] [1,3]dioxole are described here as well as their reactivity and chemical behavior.
