Credit crisis and her impact to liquididty on interbank market

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to provide a closer look to the issue of the credit crisis, with the focus on the interbank market liquidity, as well as to present the history, the reasons, which stand behind the credit crises, as well as to name and characterize the bailout packages of the individual governments in the world. The main goal is to analyze the behavior of the interbank market itself, as well as the behavior of the interbank market participants, who try to reduce and mitigate the impacts of the credit crisis. The interbank market is the most important indicator of the economy as well as its engine. Its power and ability to transfer free funds and resources to entrepreneurs or households, what helps to improve and maximize investments as well as spending, those are the fundaments of the vivid economy. If this works, and if the banks are able to provide such funds to the economy elements, the whole economy goes well, entrepreneurs are able to invest to the modern technology, and households are keen on spending more money – this all has the same effects – economic growth. The thesis describe the bailout programs of the world governments, which aim is to help the interbank market participants as well as the whole economy to fight with the impacts of the credit crisis. Thesis explains the terms as TED spread, TARP program of the US government, as well as the development of the TED spread during the credit crisis.

Abstract:

Cieľom mojej diplomovej práce je priblížiť problematiku finančnej krízy so zameraním sa na medzibankový trh, ako aj priblížiť históriu, príčiny, ktoré krízu spustili, ako aj jednotlivé kroky a realizáciu pomoci štátov pre záchranu a pomoc ekonomikám vysporiadať sa s dôsledkami tejto úvero- vej krízy. Cieľom je analyzovať chovanie na medzibankovom trhu, chovanie jeho účastníkov pri procesoch pomoci a zmierňovania dopadov úverovej krí- zy. Medzibankový trh je dôležitým indikátorom a motorom hospodárskeho rastu v každej krajine. Jeho sila, schopnosť posúvať peňažné tam, kde môžu napomôcť kreovať hospodársky rast, je fundamentom každej fungujúcej ekonomiky. Ak funguje tento medzibankový trh, ak sú banky schopné a ochotné posúvať voľné zdroje či do podnikateľskej sféry, ktorá takto zvýši napríklad svoju výrobu, či ju zefektívni a investuje do sofistiko- vanejších technológií, alebo požičia domácnostiam na krytie ich výdavkov, to všetko má spoločného menovateľa – rast HDP, rast hospodárstva. Práca taktiež približuje záchranné programy vlád štátov, ktorých cieľom je pomôcť tak subjektom medzibankového trhu, ako aj celej ekonomike bojovať proti dôsledkom úverovej krízy. Práca tiež vysvetľuje pojmy ako TED roz- pätie a jeho vývoj počas úverovej krízy.
