The formation of the Red Cross to 1918.

Abstract:

Pro svou bakalářskou práci jsem si vybral téma vznik a vývoj Červeného kříže do roku 1918. V první části rozeberu válečné ošetřovatelství před založením Červeného kříže a stručně nejvýraznější osobnosti tohoto období. Následně se zaměřím na bezprostřední události před vznikem organizace, na osobnost Henryho Dunanta, založení Výboru pěti, přijetí Ženevské úmluvy a mezinárodní humanitní právo, které s tématem úzce souvisí. Stěžejní částí práce bude založení a činnost Červeného kříže ve vybraných ozbrojených konfliktech do konce první světové války.

Abstract:

For my Bachelor's thesis I have chosen the topic: The formation of the Red Cross to 1918. During the first part I will analyse wartime nursing care before the establishment of the Red Cross and briefly some of the well-known personalities of the era. Then I will focus on the events just before the organization was created, on Henry Dunant, founding the International Committee, adoption of the Geneva convention and international human rights which is closely related to the topic. The crucial part will be the founding of the Red Cross and its activity in certain armed conflicts until the end of the first world war.
