The bachelor thesis is focused on social relationship between mother and child in captivity. Information about biology of wild as well as captive Bornean and Sumatran orangutans is gathered and processed based on literary research. Bakalářská práce je věnovaná sociálnímu vztahu mezi matkou a mládětem v zajetí. V práci jsou na základě studia literatury sesbírané a zpracované informace o biologii oran-gutanů bornejských i sumaterských, a to jak ve volné přírodě, tak v zajetí.
