Abstract:

Bezpečnost online služeb je rozsáhlé téma, které zahrnuje oblasti jako protokoly, síťová a aplikační bezpečnost. Z tohoto důvodu existuje velké množství typů útoků, které útočníci mohou využít. První část této práce popisuje některé tyto útoky a způsoby ochrany. Další část popisuje TLS protokol, TLS certifikáty, PKI a jejich použití v online komunikaci. Následující část práce ukazuje, jak správné použití TLSA a CAA DNS záznamů a zveřejnění speciálního souboru zvaného security.txt může přispět k bezpečnosti online služby. Součástí práce je bezpečnostní výzkum zaměřený na verze protokolu TLS používané službami na Internetu, nasazením souboru security.txt a potenciální úniky citlivých dat. Poslední část je zaměřena na návrh a implementaci monitorovacího systému, který má pomoci kontrolovat bezpečnostní problémy diskutované v předchozích kapitolách.

Abstract:

Security of online services is a broad topic that includes multiple fields like protocol, network, and application security. Therefore there are many attack vectors adversaries could use for malicious activities. The first part of this thesis describes some of these vectors and looks for a means of protection. The next part describes TLS protocol, TLS certificates, PKI, and their use in online communication. The following part shows how the proper use of TLSA and CAA DNS records and deployment of a special text file called security.txt can help to improve the security of an online service. Security research focused on the versions of the TLS protocol used on the Internet, the deployment of the security.txt, and potentially private data leaks was performed as a part of the thesis. The final part focuses on designing and implementing a monitoring system that should help check for security issues discussed in previous chapters.
