Connected learning and development of interest in education in a library

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá konceptem „propojeného učení", který je sociálně zakotvený, řídí se zájmy uživatelů a je přímo spojen s příležitostmi k celoživotnímu vzdělávání a občanské angažovanosti. Zdůrazňuje význam propojení vrstevníků a komunity, která podporuje učení založené na zájmech a navazuje je na studijní úspěchy a kariérní příležitosti. Práce se zabývá různými aspekty propojeného učení, například integrací osobních zkušeností do tvůrčích dílen, úlohou knihoven jako komunitních vzdělávacích prostor a významem rovnosti při poskytování lepších příležitostí pro ekonomicky znevýhodněnou mládež. Zkoumá také model „HOMAGO“ (Hanging Out, Messing Around, Geeking Out), který zdůrazňuje různé úrovně zapojení nezbytné pro dosažení lepších výsledků učení. V práci je propojené učení zasazeno do širšího přístupu ke vzdělávání a podporuje myšlenku, že knihovny jako komunitní centra mohou hrát klíčovou roli při podpoře tohoto trendu. Prostřednictvím podrobné analýzy praktických příkladů a teoretických rámců práce poskytuje ucelený přehled o tom, jak lze propojené učení efektivně implementovat v prostředí knihoven.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis explores the concept of connected learning, which is socially embedded, interest-driven and directly linked to opportunities for lifelong learning and civic engagement. It emphasizes the importance of peer and community connections that support interest-based learning and link it to academic achievement and career opportunities. The thesis explores various aspects of connected learning, such as the integration of personal experiences into creative workshops, the role of libraries as community learning spaces, and the importance of equity in providing better opportunities for economically disadvantaged youth. It also explores the „HOMAGO” (Hanging Out, Messing Around, Geeking Out) model, which emphasises the different levels of engagement necessary to achieve better learning outcomes. The thesis sets connected learning within a broader approach to education and supports the idea that libraries as community centres can play a key role in supporting this trend. Through a detailed analysis of practical examples and theoretical frameworks, the thesis provides a comprehensive overview of how connected learning can be effectively implemented in library settings.
