Práce nejprve stručně popisuje problematiku blokových zařízení v Linuxu. Jsou zmíněny vazby blokových zařízení na unixový souborový systém. Je stručně popsán vznik a manipulace s požadavky v blokové vrstvě. Dále jsou popsány konfigurační rozhraní virtuálních blokových zařízení včetně jejich srovnání. First part briefly describes matters with block devices in Linux. Block devices are put into context with unix filesystem, also there's mention about I/O requests creation, manipulation and management in the block layer.
