Communication and its Importance for Children in Risk of Learning Disability

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá stimulačními programy a jejich využitím u dětí s narušenou komunikační schopností, které jsou v riziku specifických poruch učení. Cílem diplomové práce bylo u vybraného vzorku dětí s narušenou komunikační schopností analyzovat efektivitu Stimulačního programu vzhledem k prevenci specifických poruch učení. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se věnuje vymezení pojmů řeč, jazyk, vývoj řeči, komunikační kompetence ve vztahu ke školní úspěšnosti. Definuje a charakterizuje projevy specifických poruch učení a jejich prevenci, popisuje preventivní a stimulační programy pro předškolní děti. Praktická část zjišťuje pomocí dotazníkového šetření efektivitu Stimulačního programu na rozvoj komunikačních kompetencí dětí se zaměřením na pragmatickou rovinu. Výsledky šetření vyústily v konkrétní navrhovaná opatření v oblasti vzdělávání předškolních dětí. Za největší přínos práce vzhledem k řešené problematice je možné považovat i praktické návrhy pro učitelky mateřských škol a rodiče v oblasti prevence specifických poruch učení v souvislosti s narušenou komunikační schopností.

Abstract:

This master´s thesis deals with stimulative programmes and their use for children with impaired communication abilities who are at risk of specific learning impairment. The aim of the thesis was to analyze the effectiveness of the Stimulation programme with random sample of children with impaired communication abilities in comparison with prevention of specific learning impairments. The work is devided into a theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with defining concepts, such as speech, language, speech development, communication competency in relation to school proficiency. It defines and characterizes manifestations of specific learning impairments and its prevention, describes preventive and stimulative programmes for pre-school children. The practical part conducted a surrey to reveal the effectiveness of stimulating programme for the development of communication competency of children with the aim of pragmatic level. The survey results showed to concrete proposed remedy in the educational sphere of pre-school children. In view to solving the difficult cases the work is an asset to kindergarden teachers and parents for their practical proposals in prevention of specific learning impairments as related to impaired communication abilities.
