The airport choice when travelling abroad

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce je identifikace faktorů, které při volbě odletového letiště působí na obyvatele města Brna a jeho okolí. Smyslem je zjistit, zda na obyvatele působí tzv. border effect a oni tak dávají přednost odletu z domácího, avšak vzdálenějšího, letiště Václava Havla před bližším, zahraničním, letištěm Schwechat. Práce nejprve seznamuje s problematikou border effectu a existujícím výzkumem a soustředí se na vybraná letiště a jejich nabídku. V praktické části byl proveden průzkum, z nějž byla nasbírána data, která jsou hodnocena pomocí kvantitativních a kvalitativních metod.

Abstract:

The subject of this diploma thesis is the identification of factors affecting the airport choice of inhabitants of Brno and areas close while travelling abroad. The purpose is to detect whether they are affected by a border effect and therefore favour domestic Prague airport located further away, over a foreign Vienna airport located closer. Firstly, the thesis introduces the subject of border effect and connected research and focuses on both chosen airports and their offer. In practical part, a research was conducted, and the gathered data were analysed using quantitative and qualitative methods.
