The development of Štural's homestead in the context of family memory

Abstract:

Objekty Šturalovy pasekářské usedlosti jsou od roku 1968 ve správě Valašského muzea v přírodě v Rožnově pod Radhoštěm. Během své historie nejen, že jednotlivé stavby měnily funkce a majitele, ale byly i přesunuty ze svého původního místa – z Velkých Karlovic do Rožnova pod Radhoštěm. Cílem práce bylo zachytit historický vývoj, ucelit a vyhodnotit dostupné pramenné materiály nejrůznější povahy pojící se k objektu zájmu a ty následně propojit s po generace předávanými vzpomínkami rodinných příslušníků. Ambicí bylo přiblížit každodenní život obyvatel hospodářství a vše, co s ním bylo během jeho existence na původním místě spojeno. Kapitola Obraz společenských proměn v souvislosti s obyvateli zkoumané usedlosti čp. 201 a následný Stavebně historický výzkum popisují jednotlivé vývojové etapy objektů a doplňují posledních sto let v paměti o dalších téměř dvě stě let, které již v povědomí oslovených nejsou a vychází tak z archivních a jiných pramenů. Kvalitativní výzkum byl realizován s celkem čtyřiadvaceti respondenty a soustředil se na dvě rodiny, které zkoumanou usedlost vlastnily. Často se u vzpomínek rodinných příslušníků obývajících tento prostor jednalo o paměťové fragmenty, které však společně s archivními prameny dotvořily onen zásadní obrázek, který přispěl k vytvoření uceleného obrazu doby. Výzkum je dle mého názoru nosným kamenem každé transferované stavby a principy mikrohistorie, na kterých je diplomová práce založena, mohou pomoci k dalším úvahám v širších souvislostech týkajících různých etap nejen zkoumané usedlosti, ale i vesnice. Ambicí práce je rozšířit povědomí o konkrétní usedlosti a poskytnout doplňující a podložené podklady pro průvodcovské texty a jiné. Zároveň nastínit možnosti použití mikroanalýzy a poukázat na práci s prameny. A přestože to nebylo hlavním účelem práce, tak i vyvrátit nepřesné informace pojící se k životu obyvatel stavby, které jsou v souvislosti s ní prezentovány.

Abstract:

Since 1968, the objects of Šturala's homestead have been under the management of the National Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. During its history, not only did individual buildings change functions and owners, but they were also moved from their original location – from Velké Karlovice to Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. The aim of the work was to capture the historical development, to summarize and evaluate the various available source materials related to the object of interest, and to connect them with the memories of family members passed down through generations. The ambition was to bring closer the everyday life of the farm's inhabitants and everything connected with it during its existence at its original location. The chapter A Picture of Social Changes in Connection with the Inhabitants of the Researched Homestead No. 201 and The Subsequent Construction historical research describe the individual development stages of the buildings and supplement the memories of the last hundred years with another almost two hundred years that are no longer in the awareness of the respondents and are therefore based on archival and other sources. The qualitative research was carried out with a total of twenty-four respondents and focused on two families who owned the researched homestead. Often, the memories of family members inhabiting this area were mere memory fragments, which, however - together with archival sources - completed the essential picture that contributed to the creation of a comprehensive overview of the time. I believe the research to be the cornerstone of every transferred building, and the principles of microhistory, on which this diploma thesis is based, can help with further considerations in broader contexts regarding the various stages not only of the researched homestead, but also of the village itself. The ambition of this work is to increase awareness of a particular homestead and to provide additional and substantiated sources for guide texts and others. At the same time, it shall outline the possibilities of using microanalysis and point out the work with sources. And, although this had not been the main purpose of the work, it shall also refute inaccurate information related to the lives of the building's inhabitants, which are presented in connection with it.
