The Degree of Virtual Dependence among Secondary School Students and the Possibility of Parental Intervention as a Prevention of Addiction

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá mírou virtuální závislosti žáků středních škol a možností intervence rodičů jako prevence vzniku této závislosti. V teoretické části je z psychologického hlediska rozebrán dospívající jedinec a nastíněny jsou také definice, znaky, rizika a prevence netolismu. V praktické části je kvantitativní metodou sledována skutečná míra této závislosti u žáků středních škol ve Zlínském kraji. Výzkumu realizovaného v podobě dotazníkového šetření se zúčastnily 4 střední školy, přičemž dotazník vyplnilo celkem 178 respondentů. Prostřednictvím následných analýz, do nichž byly zahrnuty dotazníky od 168 žáků, byla zkoumána míra virtuální závislosti žáků s ohledem na jejich věk a pohlaví, vliv pohlaví na míru hraní počítačových her či užívaní mobilního telefonu, vliv rodiny nebo její finanční zajištěnosti na míru virtuální závislosti a také ovlivnění zdraví v důsledku nadměrného užívání virtuálních médií.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the rate of virtual addiction of secondary school students and the possibilities of parents' intervention as a prevention of this addiction. In the theoretical part, a teenage individual is analyzed from a psychological point of view. Further, the definitions, signs, risks and prevention of virtual addiction are outlined. In the practical part, an actual rate of this addiction is monitored by a quantitative method among secondary school students in the Zlín Region. The survey carried out in the form of a questionnaire was attended by four secondary schools, with a total of 178 respondents. Through the follow-up analyzes, which included questionnaires from 168 students, the rate of students' virtual addiction was examined with respect to their age and gender, the gender's influence on playing computer games or using mobile phone, the influence of family or financial security on the level of virtual addiction, and health issues caused by excessive use of virtual media.
