Bakufu Downfall and the Meiji Restoration
Abstract:
Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na situaci v Japonsku v polovině 19. století. Cílem práce je poskytnout ucelený pohled na události vedoucí ke konci tokugawského šógunátu a následnou restauraci Meidži. Tato práce také přibližuje okolnosti, které vedly k přijetí a posléze ukončení japonského izolacionismu. Součástí je rovněž analýza vzájemného soužití Japonců a cizinců ze Západu po otevření země.
Abstract:
This master thesis is focused on the situation in Japan in the mid 19th century. The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive view on the events leading to the downfall of the Tokugawa shogunate and the subsequent Meiji Restoration.
