Analysis of unemployment in EU countries

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat míru nezaměstnanosti v zemích Evropské unie zejména v roce 2016. Veškerá data použitá v této bakalářské práci byla získána z databáze Eurostatu. Výpočty a tvorba grafů jsou provedeny v programech MS Excel a R. Míra nezaměstnanosti je analyzována pomocí popisných statistik, grafů a jsou zde provedeny neparametrické testy, které testují rozdílnosti skupin podle geografické polohy. Dále je zde měřena závislost míry nezaměstnanosti se souvisejícími faktory, kterými jsou tempo růstu HDP, míra inflace a míra rizika chudoby nezaměstnaných. Tyto závislosti jsou měřeny pomocí korelační a regresní analýzy. Je zde také provedena korelační a regresní analýza specifických měr nezaměstnanosti podle nejvyššího dosaženého vzdělání a již zmíněných faktorů, které míru nezaměstnanosti ovlivňují. Částečně je zde také grafické posouzení vývoje některých ukazatelů mezi roky 2000 až 2018.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the unemployment rate in the European Union countries especially in year 2016. All data used in this bachelor thesis was obtained from the Eurostat database. Calculations and graphs are made in MS Excel and R. The unemployment rate is analyzed using descriptive statistics, graphs and nonparametric tests which are performed to test differences in groups according to geographical location. It also measures the dependence of the unemployment rate with related factors such as the rate of GDP growth, the rate of inflation and at-risk of poverty rate of the unemployed persons. There is also a correlation and regression analysis of specific unemployment rates according to the highest educational attainment and the aforementioned factors affecting the unemployment rate. These dependencies are measured by correlation and regression analysis. There is also a partial assessment of the development of some indicators between years 2000 and 2018.
