The diploma thesis entitled Interpretation of Vašek in The Bartered Bride deals with the opera’s history, its origins and first stagings in Czech and international opera houses. The first part focuses on a brief summary of Smetana’s operas and on the differences between the four versions of The Bartered Bride. The second part concentrates on the role of Vašek.
