The Assertiveness in Communication of Helping Professions on the Example of the Librarian Profession

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o asertivitě a asertivních technikách komunikace aplikovaných na knihovnické povolání. V bakalářské práci jsou uvedeny definice knihovního prostředí a různých typů knihoven, dále je uvedena typologie uživatelů a jejich kategorizace. V další části práce je popsaná obecná komunikace se zaměřením na verbální i neverbální složku komunikace. Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje i na popis asertivních technik komunikace, které jsou dále aplikovány na příklady z knihovního prostředí v komunikaci mezi knihovníkem a návštěvníkem knihovny. Tyto příklady popisují, jak by se měl knihovník zachovat v konkrétních situacích a aplikovat asertivní komunikační techniky.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the assertiveness and assertive techniques of communication applied on library professions. In the thesis, there are definitions of a library environment and various types of libraries, as well as the typology of users and their categories. In the next part of the thesis, there is a description of the general communication with a focus on both verbal and non-verbal types of communication. The thesis also focuses on describing assertive techniques of communication, which are further applied in examples from a library setting where a librarian communicates with a visitor of the library. These examples show how a librarian should act in specific situations and how they should apply assertive techniques of communication.
