The dystopian genre illustrates an infernal outlook on the potential future awaiting and originates in the concerns of the postwar era. Anthony Burgess’s literature, however, reverses the crucial element of government oppression and provides a complex portraiture of the state, its agencies, and its representatives, which prompts the question of the author’s initial intention for such an ambiguous depiction …more
