Talent Management recommendations for SME based on Large Enterprise analysis

Abstract:

As a greater globalized world motivates companies to expand beyond their national borders, the need for finding suitable talent is higher than ever before. Technological advancements, industrial innovation and even political atmospheres can lead to shifting markets, which makes the need for strategic talent management plans more prominent. It is therefore reasonable to expect that small and medium sized enterprises (SME) will have different talent management (TM) methods than larger enterprises. Additionally, it is reasonable to predict SME and large enterprises will each have their own unique struggles to TM. A large international corporation was therefore analyzed and lessons were drawn from the case study in order to formulate recommendations for the small Czech company, Pražská čokoláda. This master thesis poses the following hypotheses: 1. SMEs can adopt talent management practices from large enterprises, by which they increase their efficiency. 2. Czech SMEs will benefit from providing robust career opportunities and incentives, because these practices increase talent retention.
