The Wim Hof method – review

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis is focused on topic of Wim Hof’s method. The goal was to map out current scientific knowledge about this method in from of literature review. This thesis works with eight scientific articles which were analysed in detail, methodology was critically assessed and results were synthetized. The result of this synthesis most often encountered in these articles was supportive evidence of antiinflammatory effect of Wim Hof’s method in five works. Other results were somewhat limited to only one study and therefore it is necessary to further explore these topics in future research.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá Wim Hofovou metódou. Cieľom bolo zmapovať súčasné vedecké poznatky o tejto metóde formou literárneho prehľadu. Táto štúdia pracuje s ôsmimi odbornými článkami, ktoré boli popísané, ich metodológia kriticky zhodnotená a výsledky syntetizované. Výsledok tejto syntézy s najväčším rozsahom medzi štúdiami v piatich zdrojoch je podpora protizápalového účinku Wim Hofovej metódy. Ďalšie výsledky boli prevažne limitované vždy na jednu štúdiu a preto je potrebné v budúcnosti im venovať rozsiahlejší výskum.
