Relationship between concentration of attention and reaction time in a sports population

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit, zda existuje vztah mezi indikátory koncentrace pozornosti a reakční doby u sportující populace. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 89 osob, z velké většiny studenti KTVS PF UJEP ve věku 22,6 ? 1,8 let. Koncentrace pozornosti byla zjištěna v testu pozornosti d2-r. Úroveň jednoduché, složité a komplexní reakční doby byla změřena zařízením Fitro Reaction. Z výsledků výzkumu bylo zjištěno, že existují určité vztahy mezi koncentrací pozornosti a reakční dobou u sportující populace. Byla potvrzena závislost mezi jednoduchou a složitou reakční dobou, dále také závislost mezi složitou reakční dobou a výkonem soustředění v testu koncentrace pozornosti. Výsledky předložené práce mohou využít trenéři zejména ve sportovních disciplínách, ve kterých jsou společně reakční doba a pozornost (např. úpolové sporty) důležitými komponenty sportovního výkonu. Lze ji také využít v každodenních činnostech člověka (např. řízení automobilu na rušné světelné křižovatce).

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to find out whether there is a relationship between indicators of attention concentration and reaction time in the sporting population. The research group consisted of 89 people, mostly students of KTVS PF UJEP aged 22.6 ? 1.8 years. Concentration of attention was determined in the d2-r attention test. The level of simple, choice and complex reaction time was measured with the Fitro Reaction device. From the results of the research, it was found that there are certain relationships between the concentration of attention and reaction time in the sports population. The dependence between simple and choice reaction time was confirmed, as well as the dependence between choice reaction time and concentration performance in the attention concentration test. The results of the presented work can be used by coaches especially in sports disciplines in which reaction time and attention (e.g. combat sports) are important components of sports performance. It can also be used in everyday human activities (e.g. driving a car at a busy traffic light).
