Abstract:

Práce se zabývá tématem podpory zdraví v kulturně rozdílných populačních skupinách. V praktické části práce prezentuje výsledky kvalitativní studie zaměřené na subjektivní vnímání zdraví studenty vysokých škol. Dvě skupiny v České republice a ve Spojených státech amerických prošly zážitkovým intervenčním programem založeným na konceptu wellness a metodách zážitkového učení. Kvalitativní analýza ohniskových skupin odhalila, že navzdory kulturním rozdílům mezi těmito dvěma skupinami se studenti ve svých odpovědích v mnoha ohledech shodli. Již před intervencí vnímali tělesné a duševní složky zdraví a často zmiňovali také aspekty duchovního zdraví (například morální hodnoty nebo smysluplnost lidského chování). Sociální zdraví bylo zpočátku téměř zanedbávaným prvkem, ale studenti mu po absolvování intervenčního programu věnovali více pozornosti. Výsledkem studie je rozsáhlý pohled na to, jak mladá generace vnímá lidské zdraví. Znalost všech témat může sloužit jako základ pro další zkoumání kvalitativních aspektů lidského zdraví a pro navrhování strukturovaných programů na podporu lidského zdraví v širším kontextu než prevence nemoci.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the topic of health promotion in culturally diverse population groups. In the practical part of the thesis, it presents the results of a qualitative study focused on the understanding of health among university students. Two groups in the Czech Republic and the United States of America have undergone an experiential intervention program based on the concept of wellness and methods of experiential reflective learning. A qualitative analysis of focus groups revealed that, despite the cultural differences between the two groups in remote countries, in many respects students agreed in their responses. Already before the intervention, they perceived the physical and mental components of health, and often mentioned aspects of spiritual health (for example moral values or sense of fulfillment and meaningfulness of human behavior). The social health was initially almost neglected component, but students devoted more attention to it after the intervention program. The outcome of the study is an extensive insight into how the young generation perceives human health. Awareness of all the topics can serve as a basis for further exploring the qualitative aspects of human health and for designing structured programs to promote human health in a wider context rather than the absence of illness.
