Abstract:

Diplomová práce dokumentuje vizuální podobu Ostravy v letech 1828?-1918 na základě tří desítek výtvarných děl, která v tomto časovém rozmezí až na výjimky vznikla. Jednotlivá díla jsou řazena do čtyř kapitol podle námětu a místa, které zobrazují. Za pomoci dostupných pramenů a literatury jsou vsazena do širšího kulturně-historického kontextu místa a času. V každé kapitole předchází rozboru konkrétního díla ještě historie daného místa, a když se jedná o zobrazení továrny nebo jiného monumentu, tak i jejich historie. Pokud byl daný objekt již v minulosti výtvarně zachycen, je uveden i historický vývoj jeho zobrazování. Samotný rozbor jednotlivých grafik, akvarelů i maleb na plátně je zaměřen na určení námětu, jeho popis a interpretaci zobrazeného. Dále následuje hodnocení autorského přístupu a jeho přínosu k zachování vizuální podoby Ostravska v rovině dokumentární či umělecké. Součástí práce je i katalog všech prací, o kterých text pojednává.

Abstract:

This thesis documents the visual appearance of Ostrava in the years 1828?-1918 on the basis of three dozen artworks that in this timeframe few exceptions occurred. Individual works are classified into four chapters by subject and place that show. Using available sources and literature they are placed into a broader cultural-historical context of time and place. Each chapter is preceded by an analysis of a specific work still history of the place, and if it is a story of a factory or another monument, as well as their history. If the idea was already in the past artistically captured, and is given the historical development of his imagery. The actual analysis of individual prints, watercolors and paintings on canvas is aimed at determining the subject matter, its description and interpretation displayed. Followed by evaluation of authorial approach and its contribution to preserving the visual appearance of Ostrava in the plane of documentary or artistic. The work also includes a catalog of all works, of which I discuss in the text.
