The Contrast Between the Public Image of a Woman and Her Inner Experience. The Nudity in Lenka Klodová's Artistic Work

Abstract:

The contrast between the public image of a woman and her inner experience. Nudity in the artwork of Lenka Klodová The master’s diploma thesis deals with the themes of nudity, feminity and physicality in visual art and in the work of the Czech action artist Lenka Klodová, from the perspective of the audience perception and reception. The introductory chapters focus on defining concepts, artistic trends such as performance art and installation art with examples of the main representatives in the world context and identify feminism in them. The work also provides a comprehensive chronological mapping of Lenka Klodová’s work, detailed analysis of her works and an interview about her work. Part of the master’s diploma thesis is also research focusing on the naked body in visual arts. The thesis focus on how the viewer perceive the confrontation with a naked female body and the way of „reading” a conceptual work of art, thematizes corporeality and the stereotypes associated with it.

Abstract:

Kontrast medzi verejným obrazom ženy a jej vnútorným prežívaním. Nahota v umeleckej tvorbe Lenky Klodovej Magisterská diplomová práca sa zaoberá tematikou nahoty, ženskosti a telesnosti vo výtvarnom umení a v tvorbe českej akčnej umelkyne Lenky Klodovej, z pohľadu diváckej percepcie a recepcie. Úvodné kapitoly sa zameriavajú na zadefinovanie pojmov, umeleckých smerov ako je fotografia, socha a akčné umenie s príkladmi hlavných predstaviteľov vo svetovom kontexte a identifikuje v nich feminizmus. Práca ďalej prináša ucelené chronologické zmapovanie tvorby Lenky Klodovej, detailnú analýzu jej diel a rozhovor o jej práci. Súčasťou magisterskej diplomovej práce je aj výskum so zameraním na nahé telo vo výtvarnom umení. Práca poukazuje na to ako vníma divák konfrontáciu s nahým ženským telom a spôsob „čítania“ konceptuálneho umeleckého diela, tematizuje telesnosť a s ňou spojené stereotypy.
