Language aggression of students (on the example of verbal behaviours of students of the School of Visual Arts)

Abstract:

Agresja w chwili obecnej należy do jednego z nasilających się zachowań dzieci i młodzieży. Wcześniej była ona oznaką dorosłych, dziś natomiast nagminnie pojawia się w zachowaniach młodzieży, a nawet dzieci początkowych klas szkoły podstawowej. Jest ona związana z wieloma czynnikami, jak niemożność osiągnięcia wytyczonego celu, walka o pozycję w grupie rówieśniczej, konfrontacja zamierzeń i możliwości, brak samospełnienia itd. Przejawia sie ona nie tylko w zachowaniach motorycznych, ale także w zachowaniach słownych, które przekraczają nie tylko granicę dobrego zachowania, ale także tabu językowego. Celem mojej pracy jest wskazanie typowych zachowań werbalnych, służących szeroko rozumianej agresji, pojawiających się w wypowiedziach młodzieży gimnazjum i liceum plastycznego (chodzi o młodzież w wieku 14-19 lat). Ich agresywne zachowania są często wynikiem także wzmożonej gospodarki hormonalnej, która utrudnia młodzieży panowanie nad emocjami. Z tego względu oprócz czynników społecznych ma ona zasadniczy wpływ na zachowania (w tym sposób wypowiadania się) młodzieży w tym wieku. Czy istnieje możliwość zapanowania nad agresją słowną? Czy istnieje możliwość jej wyeliminowania? Na te pytania postaram się odpowiedzieć niejako w tle, ponieważ z jednej strony w wielu przypadkach zaburzenia emocji, występujące w tym wieku, nie dają się jednoznacznie sklasyfikować, a z drugiej dochodzi temperament, co warunkuje też sposób wypowiadania się. Z doświadczenia pracy w szkole średniej mogę powiedzieć, że agresja jest jednym z ważnych czynników, z którymi zmaga się współczesny nauczyciel w szkole polskiej. Problem zatem wydaje mi się nie tylko aktualny, ale i bardzo istotny. Zrozumienie przez młodzież zawierania w niektórych wypowiedziach semu AGRESJA pomoże im wycofać przynajmniej część wypowiedzi napastliwych, obraźliwych itp. W rozmowach z młodzieżą często spotykam się ze stwierdzeniem, że nie widzi ona w swojej (czy kolegi, koleżanki) wypowiedzi form napastliwych czy obraźliwych. Czy jest to zjawisko przesuwające oś wypowiedzi neutralnych i wypowiedzi emocjonalnych (tu szczególnie emocji negatywnych) w stronę tych pierwszych? Czy dalej pozostają one formą wyrażania emocji negatywnych? Oczywiście, dokładną odpowiedź na te pytania można by uzyskać po konfrontacji wypowiedzi młodzieży i dorosłych, w których wyrażają oni emocje negatywne, a także konfrontacją wypowiedzi agresywnych młodzieży z odbiorem ich przez 8 dorosłych. To jednak wymagałoby osobnego opracowania. Pierwszym etapem na drodze do uzyskania odpowiedzi na powyższe pytania jest opracowanie form agresywnych pojawiających się w wypowiedziach młodzieży szkolnej. To jest główny cel mojej pracy.

Abstract:

Currently, aggression is one of the escalating behaviors of children and adolescents. Previously, it was a sign of adults, but nowadays it manifests itself in the behavior of youth and even primary school children. It is linked to many factors, such as: failure to achieve a goal, struggle for position in a peer group, confrontation of intentions and possibilities, lack of self-fulfillment, etc. It is present not only in motor behavior, but also in verbal conduct that transcend the boundaries of good manner, as well as the taboo language. The purpose of my dissertation is to indicate typical verbal behavior with regard to the broadly understood aggression, emerging in the statements of junior and high school students (about 14-19 year olds). Their aggressive manners are often the result of an increased hormonal management of youth that obstructs to control emotions. Therefore, apart from social factors, it has a fundamental influence on the way they are speaking at this age. Is it possible to control verbal aggression? Is it possible to eliminate it? In a way, I will try to answer these questions in the background, because on the one hand, in many cases emotional disorders occurring in this age can not be classified, and on the other hand there is an explosive temperament, which also determines the way of speaking. From my work experience in high school I can say that aggression is one of the important factors that is faced by a teacher in the contemporary Polish school. In consequence of that, I consider the problem not only as current but also very significant. Young people's understanding of formulating some statements with a semantic quality of the word 'AGGRESSION' will help them to withdraw at least a part of the expressions that are harassing, abusive, etc. In conversations with young people, I often hear the opinion that they don't find in their own (or friends) statements any aggressive or offensive forms. Is it a phenomenon that shifts the axis of neutral expression and emotional expression (here in particular negative emotions) towards the former? Are they still a form of expressing negative emotions? Undoubtedly, the precise answer to these questions could be obtained by confronting the statements of both adolescents and adults (in which they express their negative emotions), as well as confronting statements of aggressive adolescents and their reception by adults. However, this would require a separate elaboration. The first phase on the way to attaining answers to the above questions is to prepare a list of aggressive forms that appear in the statements of school pupils. This is the main purpose of my work.
