Musician´s warm-up

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci představuji aspekty a provázanost kognitivních a fyziologických procesů při hudební přípravě a produkci, umožňující hudebníkům hlubší pochopení jejich významu a účinků při hudebním projevu – svá zjištění z různých vědeckých oborů integruji do harmonického celku se záměrem usnadnit hudebníkům nalezení jedinečné a efektivní cesty k hudební přípravě.Práce vznikla na základě výzkumné studie, jejímuž vytvoření předcházelo soustavné a intenzivní bádání a shromažďování poznatků z uměleckých i vědeckých sfér. Značný objem informací jsem komprimoval do podoby studie a následně rozšířil o praktické tipy a příklady cvičení pro studenty melodických bicích nástrojů.V práci prezentuji fakta a metody vedoucí k patřičnému propojení těla a mysli, uvolněnosti a lehkosti při hudebním projevu, respektive dalšímu hudebně-duševnímu vývoji. Účelem této diplomové práce není snaha o předložení přelomových zjištění či univerzálních řešení v oblasti optimální umělecké přípravy, nýbrž uvedení jednoduchých a funkčních mechanismů v širších souvislostech, a to optikou prakticky a studijně aktivního soudobého umělce.Soustavné ověřování poznatků v praxi mě dovedlo k přesvědčení, že výsledky výzkumu využité v umělecké oblasti lze analogicky uplatnit i v každodenním životě. Hudební představivost se do značné míry odvíjí od představy o životě, respektive o schopnosti nechat se inspirovat a vyjádřit tuto zkušenost pomocí hudby. Míra uvolnění napětí v těle je neoddělitelná od ztišení mysli, což s sebou přináší lepší koncentraci a schopnost uvědomit si přítomný okamžik – to se opakovaně ukazuje jako efektivní cesta k uvolněnému a uvědomělému hudebnímu projevu.

Abstract:

This master´s thesis presents aspects and connections between cognitive and physiological processes during music preparation and production, enabling musicians to gain a deeper understanding of their meaning and effects in musical expression – I integrate my findings from various scientific fields into a harmonious complex with the intention to help musicians find their unique and effective way of music preparation. This thesis has been created on the basis of a research study, the creation of which was preceded by systematic and intensive research and the collection of knowledge from the artistic and scientific spheres. I compressed a considerable amount of information into the form of a study and then I extended the work with practical tips and examples of exercises for students of melodic percussion instruments.In my work, I present facts and methods which lead to appropriate interconnection of body and mind, relaxation, ease during musical expression and further musical and mental development. The purpose of the thesis is not to present groundbreaking findings or universal solutions in the field of optimal artistic preparation, but to present simple and functional mechanisms in a broader context from the perspective of a student and active artist.Continuous verification of findings in practice led me to believe that the results of research used in the artistic field can be applied analogously in everyday life. Musical imagination largely depends on ideas about life, or rather on the ability to be inspired and express this experience through music. Releasing tension in the body is inseparable from calming the mind, which offers better concentration and the ability to be in the present moment – this has repeatedly proven to be an effective path to relaxed and conscious musical expression.
