Inflation in Turkey since the beginning of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's government

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem inflace v Turecku od počátku vlády Recepa Tayyipa Erdoğana, tedy od jeho zvolení do funkce premiéra v roce 2003 až po současnost, s důrazem na období v letech 2010-2024, vyhodnocením sociálních dopadů inflace a zhodnocením efektivity protiinflačních opatření monetární a fiskální politiky. V teoretické části jsou definovány hlavní pojmy ze zkoumané oblasti. V metodologické části je představena turecká ekonomika, její hlavní hybatele a její mezníky. V závěru práce jsou vyhodnoceny důsledky inflace na jednotlivá odvětví.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the evolution of inflation in Turkey since the beginning of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's government, i.e. from his election as Prime Minister in 2003 to the present, with emphasis on the period 2010-2024, evaluating the social impact of inflation and assessing the effectiveness of anti-inflationary monetary and fiscal policy measures. The theoretical part defines the main concepts of the area under study. The methodological part introduces the Turkish economy, its main drivers, and its milestones. The paper concludes by assessing the implications of inflation on different sectors.
