Práce se zabývá dějinami muzejnictví na Ostravsku. Analyzuje období druhé poloviny 19. století, tedy dobu před institucionálním vznikem prvních muzeí v regionu. Dosavadní bádání nereflektovalo tuto problematiku dostatečně, resp. jí věnovalo jen omezený prostor. The submitted thesis deals with the history of museums in the Ostrava region and analyses the period of the second half of the 19th century which is the period before the institutionalisation of first museums in the region.
