Determination of Ag in ash from the incineration of photographic film by atomic absorption spectrometry

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce byla zaměřena na možnosti přímé analýzy suspenzí pro stanovení stříbra v popelu fotografického filmu FOMA jako alternativní, časově úsporné metody ve srovnání s postupy založenými na mineralizaci na mokré cestě s následnou analýzou metodou atomové absorpční spektrometrie s atomizací v plameni (FAAS). Byla provedena optimalizace podmínek měření a postupu přípravy suspenze. Studován byl vliv přítomnosti dispergačního a extrakčního média, navážky vzorku a doby ultrazvukování vzorku za účelem přípravy nejvhodnější suspenze pro analýzu. Byly určeny analytické charakteristiky stanovení stříbra pomocí navržené metody. Správnost a přesnost metody byla ověřena porovnáním výsledků získaných přímou analýzou suspenzí s daty obdrženými po mikrovlnné mineralizaci a pomocí metody LIBS. Vypracovaná metoda umožňuje nejen stanovení celkového obsahu Ag, ale i Ag přítomného v elementární formě (Ag0) a ve vázané formě jako bromid stříbrný (AgI).

Abstract:

The submitted thesis was focused on possibility of using slurry sampling analysis for determination of silver in ash of FOMA photographic film as an alternative time-saving method in comparison with the procedures based on mineralization in wet digestion method followed by analysis of Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry with atomization in flame (FAAS). Optimalization of measuring conditions and procedures of suspension preparation were performed. Influence of presence of dispersing and extraction medium was studied together with sample weight of the sample and time of ultrasonic bath of the sample with the aim of preparation of most suitable suspension for analysis. Analytic characteristics of silver determination with the help of proposed method were determined. Accuracy and correctness of the method was verified by comparison of the results obtained by the direct analysis of suspensions with data received after microwave digestion and by LIBS method. Worked out method enables not only determination of total Ag content but also Ag present in elementary form (Ag0) and in bound form as silver bromide (AgI).
