The bachelor's thesis thoroughly examines structuralist approaches which shaped literary theory in the second half of the twentieth century. The first part of the thesis evaluates the origins of structuralism in linguistics, its evolution, essential notions, and persons who significantly influenced the birth of structuralism in literary theory.
