Short term foster care from the point of view of a midwife

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá pěstounskou péčí na přechodnou dobu, na téma je nahlíženo pohledem porodní asistentky. Teoretická část se zabývá náhradní rodinnou péčí, především pěstounstvím a adopcí. Dále jsou v teoretické části popsány možnosti odložení novo-rozence, péče o ženu, která se vzdává dítěte po porodu a péče o novo-rozence, o kterého rodiče po porodu nemohou nebo nechtějí pečovat. Cílem práce bylo zjistit informovanost studentek porodní asisten-ce o tématu pěstounské péče a péče o ženu, která se po porodu vzdává dítěte. Byl proveden kvantitativní výzkum formou elektronického do-tazníkového šetření, na dotazník odpovědělo 86 studentek porodní asistence. Otázky zjišťovaly znalosti, zkušenosti a postoje studentek k tématu pěstounské péče na přechodnou dobu a péče o ženu, která se vzdává dítěte. Výzkumné šetření přineslo zajímavá zjištění. Většina respondentek by ocenila více informací o péči o ženu, kte-rá se vzdává dítěte po porodu. Respondentky jsou nedostatečně in-formovány o pěstounské péči na přechodnou dobu, o péči o ženu, kte-rá se vzdává dítěte po porodu i o utajeném porodu. Na základě výsled-ků výzkumu doporučuji zařadit témata péče o ženu, která se po poro-du vzdává dítěte, pěstounská péče na přechodnou dobu a možnosti odložení novorozence do výuky studentek porodní asistence na uni-verzitě.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on short-term foster care, the topic is reviewed from a point of view of a midwife. Theoretical part deals with substi-tute family care, primarily with foster care and adoption. In the theo-retical part there are also described options of giving up a child, care of a woman who gives up her child after labour and care of a new-born, whose parents cannot or do not want to take care of him/her. The aim is to find out the awareness of midwifery students about the short-term foster care and care of a woman who gives up her child after labour. The quantitative research was conducted by the method of an online questionnaire. The questionnaire was filled in by 86 mid-wifery students. Questions were focused on knowledge, experiences and attitude of students about short-term foster care and care of a woman who gives up her child after labour. The research showed in-teresting findings. Majority of respondents would appreciate more information about care of a woman who gives up her child after labour. Respond-ents are partly uninformed about short-term foster care, care of a woman who does not want or cannot take care of her child after la-bour and about anonymous births. Based on the findings, I recom-mend including the topics of short-term foster care, care of a woman who gives up her child after labour and options of giving up a child to the curriculum of midwifery student programs.
