Style Analysis of the Exposition of a Character in David Cronenberg's Film Spider

Abstract:
Tato práce si klade za cíl analýzu způsobu expozice postavy ve filmu Pavouk Davida Cronenberga a dále prozkoumávat problematiku na základě souvisejících ukázek z dalších snímků. Také zdůrazním jak důležitou roli v daném procesu konstrukce expozice postavy hraje empatie. Budu užívat metodu neoformalistické stylové analýzy.
Abstract:
This thesis aims to analyse the methods used for exposition of a character in David Cronenberg’s film Spider and further explore the topic using related examples from other films. I’m also going to emphasize how important the role of empathy is in the process of constructing a character’s exposition. I’m going to use the method of neoformalist style analysis.
