The Women and French Horn

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Ženy a lesní roh“ pojednává o hráčkách na lesní roh z několika pohledů. Pro upřesnění je zde vysvětlen pojem gender a dále představuje práce nejvýznamnější české i zahraniční hornistky, se dvěma z nich je v práci přepsán rozhovor. Dále autorka zkoumá počty žen v českých profesionálních orchestrech s důrazem na sekci lesních rohů. V práci je proveden drobný výzkum, který mapuje počty absolventů/absolventek na lesní roh na středních uměleckých a vysokých školách.

Abstract:

The thesis Women and french horn deals with issue of female horn players from several perspectives. For clarification, there is explained expression of gender. The thesis also introduces the most significant Czech and foreign female hornists. There is presented a little interview with two of them, in this thesis. In following part of thesis, author examines numbers of women, employed in czech professional orchestras with focusing on french horn section. There is included a little research, which summarizes numbers of male and female french horn graduates on secondary schools and universities, in this thesis.
