Assessment of ecological limits and health status of Sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) and Norway maple (Acer platanoides) in the Outer Western Carpathians

Abstract:

V letech 2018–2021 byl proveden dendrometrický výzkum růstových projevů javoru klene (Acer pseudoplatanus) a javoru mléče (Acer platanoides) v oblasti Vnějších Západních Karpat. Pro výzkum byly ze seznamů Ústavu pro hospodářskou úpravu lesů vybrány lokality hospodářských lesů, dále byly vybrány lokality v chráněných územích. Těmi jmenovitě byly PR Trojačka, PR Klíny, PP Velký kámen, PR Huštýn, PR Ropice, PR Nořičí, PR Kršle a PR Smrk. Celkem jsme změřili 506 javorů klenů a 16 javorů mléčů. Zjistili jsme, že maximálních hodnot dosahovali kleny ve 4. lesním vegetačním stupni na ekologické řadě obohacené humusem. Průměrná výška javoru klene byla 32,49 m, jeho průměrná tloušťka 54,5 cm a jeho průměrný objem 3,66 m3. Javor mléč byl objeven ve 3. a 4. lesním vegetačním stupni. Vyšších hodnot dosahoval ve 4. lesním vegetačním stupni

Abstract:

A dendrometric study was conducted in 2018-2021 on the growth performance of Sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) and Norway maple (Acer platanoides) in the Outer Western Carpathians. Sites of economic forests were selected for the research from the lists of the Institute for Forest Management, as well as sites in protected areas. These were PR Trojačka, PR Klíny, PP Velký kámen, PR Huštýn, PR Ropice, PR Noričí, PR Kršle and PR Smrk. In total, we measured 506 Sycamore maple trees and 16 Norway maples. We found that Sycamore maples reached their maximum values in forest vegetation stage 4 on the humus-enriched ecological series. The average height of a Norway maple tree was 32.49 m, its average thickness was 54.5 cm, and its average volume was 3.66 m3. Sycamore maple was found in the 3rd and 4th forest vegetation stages. The higher values were found in the 4th forest vegetation stage.
