Shielding effectiveness measurement

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na měření účinnosti stínění a jejím cílem je navrhnout vhodnou metodu měření na základě rešerše. Rešerše obsahuje ucelený přehled aktuálně používaných metod pro stanovení účinnosti stínění, a to jak postupů normalizovaných, tak nenormalizovaných. Dle rešerše byla vybrána metoda měření sondami blízkého pole, která umožňuje variabilní výběr mezi velikostmi sond, jejich konstrukcí, a především jednoduchost návrhu, který lze realizovat pomocí běžných desek plošných spojů. V průběhu řešení diplomové práce bylo navrženo a realizováno několik typů sond a zároveň bylo provedeno měření na několika vzorcích různých materiálů. Pro vlastní měření byl navrhnut měřicí přípravek, který definuje opakovatelné podmínky při měření, aby byly výsledky porovnatelné. Zároveň byl při konstrukci přípravku kladen důraz na další použitelnost, především pak při výuce předmětu Elektromagnetická kompatibilita v univerzitních laboratořích. V závěru práce jsou zhodnoceny výsledky měření a je diskutováno, jakým způsobem je metoda vhodná pro měření účinnosti stínění. Použitá metoda měření sondami blízkého pole umožňuje levnou realizaci měření, které nevyžaduje speciální prostředí, ale zároveň obsahuje nedostatky, které mohou ovlivnit výsledky měření.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the measurement of shielding effectiveness and its goal is to propose a suitable measurement method based on research. The research contains a comprehensive overview of currently used methods for determining the shielding effectiveness, both standardized and non-standardized procedures. According to the research, the method of near-field probes measurement was chosen, which allows a variable choices between the sizes of the probes, their construction and, above all, the simplicity of the design, which can be implemented using ordinary printed circuit boards. During the process of working on the thesis, several types of probes were designed and implemented, and at the same time, several samples of different materials were used for measurement. A mechanical fixture was designed for the actual measurement, which defines repeatable conditions during the measurement so that the results are comparable. At the same time, during the design of the product, emphasis was placed on further usability, especially when teaching the subject Electromagnetic Compatibility in university laboratories. At the end of the thesis, the measurement results are evaluated, and there is discussed how the method is suitable for measuring the shielding effectiveness. The used method of near-field probes enables a cheap realization of the measurement, which does not require a special environment, but at the same time contains a deficiency, which affect the measurement results.
