Pulsed laser deposition of layers and heterostructures of transition metal oxides and study of their magnetic and electronic properties

Abstract:

In this thesis, we report the deposition of thin films of YBa2Cu3O7-δ, SrTiO3, LaFeO3 and superlattices SrTiO3/LaFeO 3 by pulsed laser deposition. Thin films were monitored during the deposition by the high energy electron diffraction and the topography of the samples was determined by the atomic force microscopy after the deposition. We studied the samples using temperature dependence of the resistance and the magnetic moment. For thin films of YBa2Cu3O7-δ, we reached a maximum critical temperature of 87.5◦C. For SrTiO3/LaFeO3 superlattices, we found that they exhibit conducting properties despite the fact that the constituent materials are insulators.

Abstract:

V této diplomové práci jsme se věnovali depozici tenkých vrstev YBa2Cu3O7-δ, SrTiO3 , LaFeO3 a supermřižek SrTiO3/LaFeO3 pomocí pulzní laserové depozice. Tenké vrstvy byly sledovány během depozice metodou vysokoenergiové elektronové difrakce a topografie vzorků byla po depozici stanovena mikroskopií atomárních sil. Vzorky jsme charakterizovali měřením teplotní závislosti elektrického odporu a magnetického momentu. U tenkých vrstev YBa2Cu3O7-δ jsme dosáhli maximální kritické teploty 87.5◦C. U supermřížek SrTiO3/LaFeO3 jsme zjistili, že vykazují vodivé vlastnosti, i když jednotlivé materiály jsou izolátory.
