Identification and characterization of new lectins from ticks
Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with the identification and characterization of saccharide binding proteins from ticks. These proteins may be potential lectins that play important role in the tick innate immunity. However, they may be also involved in pathogen transmission or interaction with host’s glycoproteins. Tato diplomová práce se věnuje identifikaci a charakterizaci nových proteinů z klíšťat specificky se vázajícich na sacharidy , t. j. potenciálních lektinů. Lektiny jsou součástí vrozené imunity klíšťat, avšak mohou být zapojeny do přenosu patogenů klíšťaty, a také do interakcí s glykoproteiny hostitele.
