How quality of relationship between parents influences well-being of their children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem subjektivní pohody (well-being) adolescenta ve vztahu ke kvalitě partnerského vztahu rodičů. Zaměřuje se na vybranou rodinu, ve které není vztah mezi manžely harmonický. Hlavním cílem práce je vypozorovat důsledky konfliktů mezi rodiči na subjektivní pohodu dětí. Jsou zjišťovány problémy v komunikaci mezi partnery, pozornost je zde zaměřena na sociální oporu mezi členy rodiny a na prožívání dítěte. Práce nejprve vysvětluje teorii, která s danou problematikou souvisí. Na teoretickou část navazuje část praktická, která charakterizuje vybranou rodinu, její situaci a prožitky a to na základě rozhovorů se členy rodiny. Bylo zjištěno, že hlavním problémem manželů, je chyba v komunikaci, žádný společně trávený volný čas a přizpůsobení života pouze svým dětem. Dospívající dcery vidí, že rodiče nejsou šťastni a snaží se situaci řešit. Nemají však úplné informace, protože rodiče před nimi předstírají, že je vše v pořádku. Dcery si aktuální situaci kladou za vinu a často jednají jinak, než by chtěly, s ohledem na své rodiče. Smysl práce shledávám v rozšíření povědomí učitelů o významu dopadu rodinného prostředí na vnitřní stav adolescenta, především kvůli možným důsledkům pro fungování adolescenta ve škole.

Abstract:

This Bachelors work is focused on the quality of the parents' partnership and its impact on subjective well-being of the child. It is focused on one particular family where the relationship between man and wife is not harmonious. The main goal of this work is to see the consequences of the parental conflicts on well-being of the child. There are several problems in the communication between parents. The attention is focused on the amount of support among family members and on the experience of children. In the first part of diploma thesis the basic theoretical background relevant to the topic is explained. Theory which is connected to the issues at first. Then there is practical part which characterize the specific family, its situation and experiences based on family discussions. It was discovered that the main problem of the man and wife is mistake in communication, no common freetime and considering the whole life to their children. Adulting daughters see that parents are unhappy and trying to solve the situation. But they don´t have all of the informations because parents are pretending that everything is all right. The daughters feel guilty about the situation and often treats different way they wanted regarded to their parents. I see the sense of this work in expansion of knowledge of teachers about meaning of impact of family environment on psychological condition of adolescent. Primarily because of possible impacts for functioning adolescent in school.
