Server with GNU/LINUX operation system as a server for a small LAN.

Abstract:

Cílem práce je návrh konfigurace linuxového serveru, popis vlastností, konfigurace a možností rozšíření služeb, které jsou potřebné pro kompletní pokrytí služeb malé sítě připojené do Internetu. Server LINUX jako router, interní a forward DNS server, PDC pro stanice Microsoft Windows - SAMBA, transparetní proxy server - SQUID s filtrováním obsahu - SQUIRM a monitorovánín přístupu na www - SARG, příjem a odesílání emailů - QMAIL, jednoduché webové stránky - APACHE. Výstupem práce bude návrh praktického použití, instalace a nastavení, včetně definování ekonomických a funkčních výhod a nevýhod zvoleného řešení. Porovnání předpokládaného TCO s komerčním řešením.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to design a linux server configuration, description of features, configuration and possibilities of extension of services which are required for a complete coverage of a small LAN services connected to the Internet. LINUX server as a router, internal and forward DNS server, PDC for Microsoft Windows stations, transparent proxy server SQUID with content filtration SQUIRM and monitoring of www access SARG, receiving and sending emails QMAIL, simple web pages APACHE. The work output will be a design of a practical use, installation and setup including defining of the economical and functional advantages and disadvantages of the chosen solution. Comparison of the estimated TCO with a comercial solution.
