Process IVF through the eyes of the women

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce, jak už z názvu napovídá, se zabývá ženami, co si prošly IVF procesem. Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit, jak celý IVF proces v daných centrech asistované reprodukce probíhá, jak ho ženy prožívaly a jaký dopad to mělo na jejich psychiku. Jako dílčí cíle jsem si stanovila zjištění, co pro ženy v dnešní době znamená rodičovství a proč chtějí děti. Dále jsem zjišťovala, na čí doporučení navštěvují ženy IVF centra a jak dlouho se o dítě pokoušely samy s partnerem, než se rozhodly vyhledat lékařskou pomoc. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části se nachází celkem 3 kapitoly, kdy v první kapitole je zmíněno něco málo z historie a statistiky IVF procesu. V druhé kapitole je popsána neplodnost, její definice, její psychické dopady a psychologické aspekty neplodnosti. Dále jsou v této kapitole popsány rizikové faktory pro vznik neplodnosti a příčiny jak ženské, tak mužské neplodnosti. V neposlední řadě se také zmiňuji o finanční stránce léčby neplodnosti a o sociální opoře. Třetí kapitola je věnována asistované reprodukci, kde se zmiňuji o vyšetřeních, které je nutné absolvovat před asistovanou reprodukcí, a dále jsou v této kapitole popsány metody asistované reprodukce se zaměřením hlavně na IVF proces. Praktickou část jsem zpracovala formou kvalitativního výzkumu. Tvoří ji metodika práce, rozhovory s 10 ženami a jejich analýza. Dále se v praktické části nachází diskuze a závěr práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is dealing with women, who undergo the proces of IVF. The main goal is to find out, what includes the proces of IVF in assisted reproduction centers, how women perceive it and how it affects their psyche. Partial goals is to find out, what parenting means for these days women and why they want children. Lastly, I was also finding out, who most often recommended the IVF to women and how long they were trying to become pregnant before they start considering the IVF. The thesis is divided on theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part includes 3 chapters. In the first one is mentioned introduction to history and statistics of the IVF proces. The second one discribe definiton of infertility, its mental effects and psychological aspects. In the next part is discribed the risk factors of infertility and its main causes for both genders. I also mentioned the financial aspect of infertility treatment and the social support. The third chapter contains physical examination, which must be completed before the proces. I also mentioned another methods of assisted reproduction, which are focused on IVF. In the practical part, I made qualitative research which consists of work methodology, interviews with 10 women and following analysis. Finally it includes discussion and conclusion.
