Economic aspects of American cinema in the context of the covid-19 pandemic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou vlivu pandemie covidu-19 na filmový průmysl v Severní Americe. Ve čtyřech kapitolách se snaží zachytit změny spojené s distribuční revolucí, která v Hollywoodu za rok 2020 proběhla. Obsah práce je postaven na odborných aktuálních reportech vydávaných zejména hlavními distribučními společnostmi Hollywoodu. V neposlední řadě se práce snaží popsat trh streamovacích platforem, jemuž suverénně společnost Netflix.

Abstract:

Major concern of this bachelor thesis would be the issue of the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the film industry in North America. In four chapters, it seeks to capture the changes associated with the distribution revolution which took place in Hollywood in 2020. The content of the work is based on current professional reports published mainly by major Hollywood distribution companies. Last but not least, the work describes the market of streaming platforms, which is lead by the company Netflix.
