Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na sociologický pohled na gender pay gap v současném českém veřejném zdravotnictví. Využívá přehledovou studii jako metodologický přístup k analýze existující literatury, teorií a statistických dat. Teoretický rámec práce je postaven na konceptuálních myšlenkách Pierra Bourdieua, zejména na jeho teorii kapitálu a reprodukce sociálních nerovností, a dalších autorech zaměřujících se na toto téma (Becker, Reskin, Hartmann, Křížková, Vohlídalová, Hamplová…). Práce identifikuje klíčové faktory a mechanismy, které přispívají k vytváření genderových rozdílů v odměňování v oblasti českého zdravotnictví. Analytický přístup zahrnuje zhodnocení existujících výzkumů, článků a statistik poskytovaných převážně Českým statistickým úřadem. Specifický důraz je kladen na sociokulturní aspekty, které formují vnímání a hodnocení práce v rámci zdravotnické profese. Data shromážděná z Českého statistického úřadu a dalších relevantních zdrojů jsou analyzována ve světle Bourdieuovy teorie s důrazem na reprodukci genderových rolí a kapitálu v pracovním prostředí zdravotnictví. Cílem práce je poskytnout komplexní přehled o gender pay gap v českém zdravotnictví.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on a sociological perspective on the gender pay gap in contemporary Czech public healthcare. It utilizes a literature review as a methodological approach to analyse existing literature, theories, and statistical data. The theoretical framework is based on the conceptual ideas of Pierre Bourdieu, particularly his theories on capital and the reproduction of social inequalities, along with other authors addressing this topic (Becker, Reskin, Hartmann, Křížková, Vohlídalová, Hamplová...) The study identifies key factors and mechanisms contributing to the creation of gender disparities in remuneration within the Czech healthcare sector. The analytical approach includes an evaluation of existing research, articles, and statistics, predominantly provided by the Czech Statistical Office. Specific emphasis is placed on sociocultural aspects shaping the perception and evaluation of work within the healthcare pro-fession. Data collected from the Czech Statistical Office and other relevant sources are analysed in light of Bourdieu's theory, with an emphasis on the reproduction of gender roles and capital in the healthcare work environment. The aim of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the gender pay gap in Czech healthcare but also to propose potential strategies for reducing this gap and promoting equality in the healthcare sector.
