Use of technical monumets in tourism of the Czech republic

Abstract:

This thesis was dedicated to the use of technical monuments in tourism of the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two main parts: the theoretical and the practical one. The theoretical part deals with the general characteristic of technical monuments, their tourist potential and potential for a business. Then we attend to the industrial history of city of Ostrava and we present its most important technical monuments. In the practical part we analyse current state of the technical monuments in Ostrava in light of their use in tourism in comparison with other places in Europe. In a questionnaire we examine general public?s opinions on these technical monuments and at the conclusion we evaluate their prospects, especially their opportunity to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. We have reached a conclusion, that even if a concern about technical monuments in the Czech Republic is rising, their real potencial isn?t still availed enough.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývala využitím technických památek v cestovním ruchu České republiky. Práce je rozdělena na dvě hlavní části: na část teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části se zabýváme obecnou charakteristikou technických památek, jejich turistickým potenciálem i potenciálem pro podnikání. Dále se věnujeme průmyslové historii města Ostravy a představujeme jeho nejvýznamnější technické památky. V praktické části analyzujeme aktuální stav technických památek v Ostravě z hlediska využití v cestovním ruchu v porovnání s jinými místy v Evropě. V anketě zkoumáme názory laické veřejnosti na tyto památky a na závěr hodnotíme jejich perspektivy, zejména možnost zápisu do Světového dědictví UNESCO. Dospěli jsme k závěru, že i když se zvyšuje zájem o technické památky v ČR, jejich potenciál stále není dostatečně využit.
