Abstract:

Cílem práce je hledat příčiny, proč se ČSSD, jež ještě v roce 2010 vyhrála volby s více než dvacetiprocentní podporou, v posledním desetiletí stala stranou, která balancuje na hranici parlamentní existence. Práce se bude zabývat příčinami tohoto úpadku, přiblíží sílu ČSSD ve sledovaném období a srovná její pozici se sesterskými sociálně demokratickými formacemi ve vybraných zemích Evropy (SPD v Německu, PvdA v Holandsku, SPO v Rakousku). Smyslem bude dále hledání paralel a rozdílů. Další část pak bude věnována vnitřnímu vývoji ČSSD se zaměřením na nejednotnost elektorátu, členské základny a vedení strany ve vztahu vůči Miloši Zemanovi.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to look for the reasons why the ČSSD, which won the elections in 2010 with more than twenty percent support, in the last decade has become a party that balances on the border of parliamentary existence. The work will address the causes of this downfall, describes the strength of the ČSSD in the period under review and compares its position with sister social democratic formations in selected European countries (SPD in Germany, PvdA in the Netherlands, SPO in Austria). The purpose will be to find parallels and differences. The next part will be devoted to the internal development of the ČSSD, focusing on the disunity of the electorate, the membership base and the party leadership in relation to Miloš Zeman.
