Sudden cardiac death in sports

Abstract:

Diplomová práce byla věnována problematice náhlé smrti u sportovců. Teoretická část byla zaměřena na samotnou náhlou smrt sportovců a nejčastější kardiovaskulární onemocnění, která ji zapříčiňují. Následně na prevenci jejího vzniku a na první pomoc prostřednictvím kardiopulmonální resuscitace s defibrilací, v případě jejího vzniku. Dále byly v diplomové práci shromážděny aktuální informace dané problematiky, včetně legislativní úpravy. V praktické části bylo zjišťováno, jaký je náhled sportovců a klubových lékařů na problematiku náhlé smrti, jak sami aktivně přistupují k řešení otázky náhlé smrti či jaká fáze preventivní péče je dle respondentů nejvíce účinná. V empirické části byla zpracována data průzkumného šetření s následnou interpretací jejich výsledků.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis was devoted to the issue of sudden death in athletes. The theoretical part focused on the very sudden death of athletes and the most common cardiovascular diseases that cause it. Subsequently, it focused also on prevention of its establishment and on first aid through cardiopulmonary resuscitation with defibrillation in case of its occurrence. Furthermore, in this part of diploma thesis, the latest information of this issue including legislation was collected. In the practical part, it was ascertained what was an insight of athletes and the clubs doctors into the issue of sudden death, how they themselves approached actively a solution of issue of sudden death and what stage of preventive care was considered the most effective in opinion of the respondents. In the empiric part, exploratory survey data were processed including the subsequent interpretation of their results.
