Trust as a basis of the sharing economy.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu role důvěry v rámci ekonomiky sdílení. V práci je na základě primární a sekundární literatury představena ekonomika sdílení, její charakteristiky a kategorizace. Vznik ekonomiky sdílení je pak zasazen do širších sociálních, kulturní, technologických a ekonomických změn, které mají vliv na celou společnost. Představeny jsou také dva koncepty společnosti. A to fragmentarizované a informační společnosti. V rámci informační společnosti je představen koncept hackerské etiky, který po kulturní stránce formoval ekonomiku sdílení. Důvěra je pak diskutována v rámci obchodního systému peer-to-peer, který je charakteristický pro ekonomiku sdílení. Ten v tomto případě probíhá prostřednictvím internetu a mezi dvěma a více lidmi. Ti vytvářejí virtuální komunity se silným sociálním kapitálem, přestože se tito jedinci ve většině případů nikdy osobně nesetkali. Z toho důvodu je popsán způsob, jakým se mezi těmito „virtuálními cizinci“ ustanovuje důvěra. Ta je nezbytná pro sdílení a směnu ať už hmotných nebo nehmotných statků. Práce představuje také rozličné kategorie důvěry, které jsou konceptualizovány na základě toho, jestli je důvěra vložena do lidské bytosti nebo systému. Spolu s konceptem důvěry je popsáno i riziko a očekávání, jako nezbytné projevy vzniku důvěry. Závěr je věnován vztahu jednotlivých konceptů a způsobům a v jakém jsou vzájemném vztahu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of confidence within the economy of sharing. On the basis of both primary and secondary literature, economy of sharing is introduced, characterised and categorised in this thesis. The origin of economy of sharing is further put into the context of wider social, cultural, technological and economical changes influencing the whole society. Two concepts of society are also introduced; fragmentarised and informative. Within the informative society, the concept of hacker ethics is dealt with, mainly from the point of view of its cultural influence on the development of economy of sharing. The confidence is later discussed within the market system of peer-to-peer, one typical for economy of sharing. The mentioned phenomenon takes place through the internet and among two or more people. These people then create virtual communities with strong social capital, although these individuals might have never met in real life. Taking this aspect into account, the way of the establishment the confidence among such "virtual strangers" is described. This confidence is crucial for sharing and exchange both material and non-material estate. The thesis also introduces distinct categories of confidence, which are conceptualised on the basis of the difference between putting this confidence either in a human being or a system. Together with the concept of confidence also the risk and expectations, as the inevitable consequences of confidence, are the issues dealt with within the thesis. The conclusion is focused on the mutual relationship of individual concepts and methods.
