Impact of the financial crisis on EU bank sector and their feasible solution

Abstract:

In the following diploma thesis we deal with the problem of financial and economic crisis with the emphasis on the banking sector.The main goal of the thesis is to analyze the impact of financial crisis on the banking sector in the European Union and realized anti-crisis measures. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first one, which has theoretical character, we deal with the theoretical terms of the commercial banking. It has three basic domains, which are dealing with the financial system, banking system and central bank. In the second chapter we are dealing with creation and development of the financial crisis, as well as with its impact on the banking sector. In the third, last one chapter we analyze anti-crisis measurements of European central bank, as well as other chosen institutions in the EU.

Abstract:

V predkladanej diplomovej práci sa venujeme problematike hospodárskej a finančnej krízy s dôrazom na bankový sektor. Hlavným cieľom práce je analyzovať dopad finančnej krízy na bankový sektor v Európskej únii a realizované protikrízové opatrenia. Práca je rozdelená na tri hlavné časti. V prvej, ktorá má teoretický charakter, sa venujeme teoretickým pojmom v oblasti komerčného bankovníctva. Má tri základné okruhy, týkajúce sa finančného systému, bankového systému a centrálnej banky. V druhej kapitole sa venujeme vzniku a vývoju finančnej krízy,ako aj jej dopadom na bankový sektor. V tretej, poslednej kapitole analyzujeme protikrízové opatrenia Európskej centrálnej banky, ako aj ďalších vybraných inštitúcií v rámci EÚ.
