Blending of Public and Private Matters. Neoformalist Analysis of Control

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje neoformalistické analýze filmu Control. První část práce se zabývá kulturně-historickým a ekonomickým kontextem vzniku, šíření a percepce filmu. V druhé části práce je důraz kladen na narativní a stylistické prvky, které přispěly k formování dominanty filmu, kterou je prolínání soukromé a veřejné sféry v životě hlavní postavy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the neoformalist analysis of Anton Corbijn's film debut Control. The first part of the work is focused on the cultural-historical and economic context of the film. It describes the circumstances of its production, distribution and reception. The major part of the thesis deals with the neoformalist analysis of the film. It is focused on all narrative and stylistic elements of Control which contributed to a creation of the film dominant. The film dominant of Control is defined as blending of public and private matters in the life of the main character.
