Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá společenstvem dutinových brouků ve hlavatých vrbách (Salix spp.) na lokalitě Vojkovická vrbovna. Byla odhadována velikost populace páchníka hnědého (Osmoderma eremita) a jeho schopnost šíření. Pomocí ordinačních analýz byly zkoumány vzájemné vztahy dutinových brouků a vliv charakteristik prostředí na složení jejich taxocenózy. Byl zkoumán vliv rozdílného managementu vrb na vznik dutin. Ve sledovaných stromech byla odhadnuta velikost populace páchníka hnědého na 166 jedinců. Složení taxocenózy brouků významně ovlivňovaly čtyři proměnné prostředí: počet dutin ve stromě (p = 0,005), obvod kmene (p = 0,005), výška vchodu do dutiny od země (p = 0,001) a zdravotní stav stromu (p = 0,021). Páchník hnědý projevil vazbu na výše umístěné dutiny a zároveň vykazoval jiné preference než ostatní saproxylické druhy. Proto nemůže být ve vrbách považován za indikátor druhové bohatosti dutinových brouků. V neořezávaných vrbách byl počet dutin ve stromě nezávislý na obvodu kmene. Ořezávání vrb má pozitivní vliv na vznik dutin již u mladých vrb a je proto vhodným prostředkem při ochraně ohroženého společenstva dutin.

Abstract:

The importance of pollard willows at the locality Vojkovická vrbovna for the Hermit Beetle (Osmoderma eremita) and other beetles (Coleoptera) of tree cavities. This thesis deals with the assemblage of cavity-dwelling beetles in willows (Salix spp.) at the locality Vojkovická vrbovna (South Moravia, Czech Republic). The population size and dispersal ability of the Hermit Beetle were estimated. The association of beetle species and the effect of environmental variables on their assemblage were analyzed by means of ordination analyses. The influence of different types of tree management on willows was assessed. The estimated population size of O. eremita in the observed trees was 166 specimens. The composition of cavity-dwelling species was significantly influenced by four variables: the number of cavities in the tree (p = 0.005), trunk girth (p = 0.005), distance between the entrance hole and the ground (p = 0.001) and tree condition (p = 0.021). O. eremita was dependent on the cavities higher up on the trees and showed different preferences than other saproxylic beetles. Hence, O. eremita cannot be considered an indicator of species richness of beetles in willow cavities. In pollard willows, the number of cavities was independent of the trunk girth. Pollarding has a positive effect on cavity occurence even in young willows and therefore is a suitable measure for the conservation of endangered cavity communities.
