Impact of South Stream Pipeline on Energy Security of the Transit Countries

Abstract:

One of every state´s priority is to reach the energy security which means the reliable, stable and diversified energy supplies for its market. The diploma thesis is engaged in the analyzing of the impact South Stream gas pipeline on energy security of the transit countries. The transit countries in this case are Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary and Slovenia. There is a survey of all developments connected with the pipeline which is now under construction. We forecast the impacts according to the pipeline for the whole South East Europe region in the area of supplies. The legislative of Europe Union and the specific features of Russian policy are taken into consideration.

Abstract:

Jedným z priorít každého štátu je dosiahnutie energetickej bezpečnosti, spoľahlivých a diverzifikovaných dodávok pre svoj trh. Práca sa zaoberá analýzou dopadu plynovodu South Stream na energetickú bezpečnosť tranzitných krajín s ohľadom na dodávky zemného plynu. Tranzitnými krajinami sú Bulharsko, Srbsko, Maďarsko a Slovinsko. Práca komplexne mapuje dianie okolo plynovodu a predpovedá jeho dôsledky pre celý región juhovýchodnej Európy v oblasti dodávok. Do úvahy sa pri skúmaní berie legislatíva Európskej únie a zároveň aj typické rysy ruskej energetickej politiky.
