Palestinian refugees as an obstacle in the resolution of Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá izraelsko-palestinským konfliktem, konkrétně pak problémem palestinských uprchlíků, který je jedním z aspektů konfliktu. V práci autor analyzuje situaci palestinských uprchlíků z několika pohledů a hledisek. Zabývá se historickým vývojem konfliktu, mírovými jednáními, právním postavením uprchlíků z hlediska mezinárodního práva, postavením uprchlíků ve společnosti v jejich hostitelských zemích, nároky a požadavky uprchlíků a postojem jak obou účastníků konfliktu, tak dalších aktérů mezinárodních vztahů k danému problému. Na základě těchto dílčích analýz se autor snaží nastínit možné scénáře budoucího vývoje situace.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in particular the situation of Palestinian refugees, which is one of the aspects of this conflict. In this thesis the author analyses the situation of Palestinian refugees from several viewpoints and aspects. He addresses the historical development of the conflict, the peace talks, refugee status in international law, refugees´ position in the society of their host countries, their demands and claims, and the stance of both the participants and international relations partakers on the problem. On the basis of these analyses the author tries to outline possible scenarios of a future development.
