Nutritional hormesis

Abstract:

Teoretická část práce se zabývá popisem principů hormeze na obecné úrovni, dále se zaměřuje na oblast nutriční hormeze, především na vliv konzumace alkoholu na kardiovaskulární onemocnění. Tomuto tématu je věnována také praktická část, kde byl na vzorku populace sledován vztah mezi způsobem konzumace alkoholu a incidencí kardiovaskulárních onemocnění. Okrajově je v práci také zmíněna hormeze u kalorické restrikce, přerušovaného hladovění, akrylamidu, vitaminu D a u resveratrolu.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of this thesis provides the general description of hormesis, followed by the focus on the area of nutritional hormesis, especially the influence of alcohol consumption to cardiovascular diseases. This issue is further adressed and analyzed during the practical part, where the relationship between alcohol consumption and the incidence of cardiovascular disease was observed on a population sample. This thesis also contains partial references to the hormesis in caloric restriction, intermittent fasting, acrylamide, vitamin D and resveratrol.
